Samir is a qualified pharmacologist has extensive experience working on the commercialisation and pricing-market access of technologies including genomics-led diagnostics, medicine, vaccines and medical devices within the global health and life sciences space. Trained as a pharmacologist, his illustrious and varied experience spans vaccine and drug discovery, machine-learning start-up, commercial aspects of pricing, market access, public health policy and global social impact. Samir believes the fast-growing global health industry is one of the most complicated, traditionalised and regulated sectors and he is a strong believer in disruptive change and creative ways of addressing global health challenges.
Samir joined Oxford AHSN in 2019 as Business Strategy and Market Access Manager. Within this role, his key responsibilities are to deliver real world, evidence-led market access strategies for global pharmaceutical and health tech clients and to design and deliver a project to foster multi-sector collaboration and mentorship programme for SMEs and local/regional health tech entrepreneurs. Samir believes there is an outstanding opportunity to leverage Oxford AHSN’s enriched local and regional network within the NHS’s ecosystem for research and to facilitate collaboration between local, regional, national and global players dedicated to a holistic/systems thinking-based approach towards healthcare delivery.
